FAQs
What if I'm not very "technically savvy"?
No problem at all; in fact, that’s exactly why we do this! We’ve recognized how incredibly busy parents are. Even with the best intentions and love for their children, most parents don’t have the time to research all of their tech, know the danger areas, and figure out and implement the best safety controls.
We have years of experience in all areas of technology, and we want to use my time and knowledge to do this for you! We’ll also walk you through implementing any software solutions we recommend so that you don’t have to try to figure these things out on your own.
What if my child has already been exposed to explicit content or is addicted to digital content?
Pornography and gaming addiction is at an all time high. Millions of kids have fallen prey to companies tricking and luring them in with tempting content and causing a variety of challenges.
But trauma, addiction, and false beliefs that arise from exposure to explicit content CAN be mitigated and reversed, and the quicker that process starts, the better. We can provide resources and suggestions for internet safety practices to prevent further exposure.
NOTE: We are not mental health professionals, and our consulting is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician. If you or a loved one is looking for help with intense gaming or pornography addiction, anxiety, depression, or thoughts of self-harm, we recommend reaching out to a mental health professional.
Do you do in-person or remote meetings?
We prefer in-person meetings for those in the Treasure Valley to get to know you better and see the devices and setup you have, but we’re happy to do remote meetings as well if you would prefer to do so, or if you live far away.
For remote meetings, any of the following platforms works for me:
- Zoom
- Microsoft Teams
- FaceTime
- Skype
- Google Meet
- [probably another one if you have a preferred platform not listed above]
How much do you charge?
$100 for the initial 1-hour consultation, and $50 for each successive appointment. However, if you book through the Internet Safety Plan, the initial appointment is free. The first appointment is not just an introductory chat; we will immediately have actionable items ready for you to start working on. If you have quick questions that you don’t feel would need a full meeting to get answered, feel free to share this in the Contact form, and we’ll be happy to assist.
During our meetings, we may also recommend some devices and software that will cost money. We have discount codes for some products that get you a discount, and we receive some money ($10-20 per purchase) from the business that you use a referral code for. We only join affiliate programs for products we truly believe in and would (and do) use in my own home, and none of them have sales numbers we have to meet, so we’ll never push a product that we don’t think is right for you.
